About Sabal License Guide

Sabal License Guide is an independently published reference on cosmetology licensing in Florida. It is not affiliated with the Florida Board of Cosmetology or any state agency, and it cannot issue, renew or rule on a license.

Editorial standards

Every rule stated here is read from an official or primary source, quoted from it, cited to it, and dated. The sources are the Florida Statutes, the Florida Administrative Code, and the Board’s own published material — and, where a question is federal rather than a licensing matter, the federal source that governs it, named on the page. Where a figure cannot be pinned to one of those, the page says so instead of estimating.

Every page that states a rule or a figure carries the date those facts were last checked. That date moves only when the source is read again — it is not refreshed to look current. Describing what a published rule says is the whole of what this site does, and it is not legal advice.

What this site is for, and what it is not

It explains what the rules require in plain English. It does not advise on anyone’s particular situation, and nothing here is legal advice. The difference matters: describing what a rule says is not the same as telling a reader what to do about their own circumstances, and only the first is what this site does.

Where a rule is clear but its application to a specific case is contested, the page quotes the provision, cites it, and says plainly that the point turns on how it is read, rather than resolving it.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, it should be fixed rather than defended. The contact page has the address.
